Advertising policy

Food is one part of a much wider picture. This guide explains common nutrition themes without turning them into promises.

What the evidence can reasonably support

Research often examines dietary patterns rather than a single ingredient. A pattern rich in plants, fibre and varied sources of protein may sit comfortably within general healthy eating guidance, but it does not diagnose or treat prostate conditions. Age, family history, symptoms, medicines and screening conversations remain important.

Build a wider plate

Try to make vegetables, fruit, pulses, whole grains and unsalted nuts familiar parts of the week. Variety matters because foods bring different nutrients and because a flexible pattern is easier to maintain.

Think in patterns

A single food rarely carries the meaning assigned to it online. Look for the overall pattern, portion, frequency and the quality of the research behind a claim.

Questions to take to an appointment

QuestionWhy it may help
Which symptoms need prompt attention? It separates general education from an individual assessment.
Do my medicines affect food or supplements? Some products can interact with prescribed treatment.
What eating pattern fits my wider health?Blood pressure, bowel health and weight may shape advice.
“A useful nutrition article should leave the reader better prepared for a conversation, not falsely certain about an outcome.”
“Patterns are usually more meaningful than isolated ingredients.”
“Symptoms deserve clinical attention rather than a search for a food shortcut.”

Advertising boundaries

Kaelin may display clearly labelled advertising or commercial information that is relevant to the site’s broad subject area. Advertising is separate from editorial judgement, and a paid placement does not change how an article is commissioned, reviewed or corrected. We do not accept wording that makes unsupported health promises, creates artificial urgency or suggests that a reader can obtain a particular personal outcome.

Advertisers and agencies must provide accurate business details, lawful claims and a clear route for questions. Materials are reviewed for misleading presentation, restricted categories, privacy implications and compatibility with UK advertising rules. Kaelin may decline, pause or remove material when information becomes inaccurate or a third party cannot substantiate an important statement.

Labelling, data and complaints

Paid placements, sponsored features and affiliate relationships are labelled in a way that can be understood without specialist knowledge. Advertising cookies or pixels are not assumed to be necessary for reading editorial content, and optional technologies require the applicable consent choice. Contact details collected through an advertising enquiry are handled for the stated purpose and normally retained for 12 months after the last correspondence.

Concerns about a placement can be sent to 147 Birchwood Lane, Manchester, M14 5GN or 020 8496 7328. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within five working days and provide a substantive response within one calendar month. This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026; the prior review on 18 June 2026 checked labelling and separation between paid and editorial material.

Materials are checked for misleading presentation, restricted categories, privacy implications and compatibility with UK advertising requirements. Kaelin may pause or remove material when a claim becomes inaccurate or cannot be substantiated.

Optional advertising identifiers are not required for ordinary editorial reading, and consent choices are respected where applicable.
